Glover Homes, Seattle’s Leader in Urban Living, is building a cluster of townhomes on my street. I am actually urban density FTW, but this company is making me crazy. Today they parked in my driveway, and I booted them out. Their trash goes everywhere, including fast food wrappers. There was always some trash on this street, and blowing into my yard, but it has definitely increased since they started. I guess I should consider myself lucky they park in my driveway, since they park on my neighbor’s lawn, most recently Advanced Plumbing. I called to tell Glover that this was happening, and suprisingly they…don’t seem to care. What? That never happens.
This is the same construction project where the derelict wandered up to me and was ranting about the Mexican language.
My other neighbor, the one who had the party where the old lady fell into the bushes, goes out and tells them to wrap it up if they go after six. I don’t blame him; he just retired and he wants his peace and quiet, dammit. I know construction is noisy, but it seems like they could be a little more careful, since this is a residential street.
You shouldn’t have to tell people not to park in your driveway. Glover Homes FTL.
Bossy hates these new houses already.
Parking in your driveway? That’s what you have to complain about? Before we moved out of the condo we were in last year because the complex was being retooled, we had guys leaving pieces of wood with spikes and nails in it outside our front door, using our external power to run their compressors, and pissing behind the dumpster. A little car in the way? Feh.
No, actually, I am complaining about all of it. The trash, the noise, the parking on my neighbor’s lawn, and the late hours.
Lucky for me, these guys have a honeybucket.
Ummm yeah, how rude!
Take pictures of the vehicles parking in your driveway and send the owners a bill for using the space.
Or, my personal favorite, call a tow truck and tell them some drunk just wandered off down the street after parking in your driveway by mistake.
Note: no relation. Just saying.
J., I was hoping not as I was posting this, actually.
I feel a little bit better about the luxury condo that is being built across the street from my apartment after reading this. Sure, it is going to be a major contributor to the influx of super-rich assholes moving into my neighborhood and the continued loss of mom-and-pop shops due to enormous rent increases that result when a neighborhood gets beyond gentrified and into luxurified, but at least they clean up after themselves.
I mean the construction folks clean up after themselves, so I’ll enjoy it while I can. The super-rich usually don’t bother.
I don’t blame your neighbor for telling them to wrap it up after a certain hour. Most places have ordinances as to what hours construction (and other loud noises) can be conducted between.
Next time they park in your driveway, call the cops.
Off topic a bit, I read a LOT of blogs, and most of them I just follow without posting on. Your blog is very welcoming feeling, for whatever reason. Awesome.
