My sister totally cracks my shit up. She has this live journal thing going on, and I love it when she goes on a tear. If you check it out, she’s Modesto720, the person who was ripping the random chatter a new one.
I am really aware of a generation gap between us when I read entries like this– the fact that she was IM-ing while she was writing a paper. I am incapable of multi-tasking like that. That’s the whole Gen-Y thing, right? Doing school work, eatin a burrito, reading a comic book, and watching MTV2 all at the same time? Or maybe it just turned out to be a mediocre paper…
I still give people dirty looks for whispering in the Quiet Reading Room. I just can’t concentrate when YOU are LOUDLY WHISPERING about your YEAST INFECTION! That’ll teach me to try to study at school.
You’re back! I feel so happy i want to crap my pants.
Actually, I thought the paper turned out quite well. But it was only a rough draft.
Oo. Burritos.
Gen Y? Ha…we Gen Xers invented multi-tasking, or should I say, multi-slacking. Ever since the advent of MTV, I can no longer take in sensory input from fewer than two sources. Sometimes I’ll be watching a DVD and I’ll have to run to the computer and look it up on IMDB just to get that second data stream. That’s why I love commentary tracks where you can hear the movie beneath the commentators’ voices. In fact, now they have those cool “trivia subtitle tracks” so you can listen to the movie, the commentary track, AND read the subtitled trivia at the same time. How cool is that? Really? Come on, now you’re just being mean.
Hi AB.
I’ve found I’m exactly that same way.
