Once again, a member of the military is punished and/or silenced for reporting that she was raped by her fellow enlisted officers. This is sad. I say this without blame or sarcasm: the more I hear about how many women are assaulted by their own “team” the more I am amazed that women still enlist.
Thanks for the tip, J.
A dear friend’s daughter is in the Marines…just got back from a tour of duty in Iraq. I just try not to think about how much danger she’s in.
Stupid megatheocorporatodustrial-military complex.
As a fellow female mil member (10 yrs) I have to say I never came across a situation like this. Wild parties happened and I’m sure underage drinking occured but most troops know how severe punishment would be if they were accused of raping someone. (Young)people get stupid and do things they might regret later, and I’m not calling the woman a liar but it sounds like remorse to me. A lot of petty fighting goes on in the shops, I taught my troops to take resposibility for thier actions- good and bad.
I hope they are able to sort the truth out from this.
Thanks for your input. I freely admit I read these news stories as a total outsider.
