Note to Self

A very short post to say that sometimes I find notes I have made to myself about things that pop into my head when I am too busy/tired/overwrought to  write.

1. Mother Returns

Kind of forgot about the Father!

L. continues to visit father’s lab for monitoring, testing, and catches idea that his father is still alive (HOW WHY)

They go on the news to ask if anyone’s seen their father??

Wow, just give me the Pulitzer now, dudes. I am kind of afraid to even open that file after this.

2.Flavorofhubris: Kanye

???

3. Normal lady activites

such as

childbirth

flensing +

cheating on one’s taxes

A mental person has apparently commandeered my notebook, I don’t remember any of this.

Note to self about notes to self: Add context and instructions next time.

  1. HA!

My notepads usually contain wild, entreprenurial business ideas (cellphone taser combo….HUR), names of either insects or diseases I Googled at some point (tetraponera ocellata????), or lists of something I either need or want to do (almost done with my “Books I want To Read, 2008” list).

  2. Oh yeah. I apparently stick notes like the above into my notebook just to taunt myself. The worst are “valuable” plot ideas I get in the middle of the night about stories that I am not merely no longer working on, but have put aside or had actually forgotten to that point. I’m like “brain, dead stories are like broken, ended relationships. Don’t matter what would have made it work because IT’S OVER.” Stupid brain.

  3. I don’t know; childbirth, flensing, and tax cheating is stuff I do regularly. Except for the first, are they really only limited to ladies? What about broads? Way to leave them out, jerkface!

  4. I write similar notes to myself about paintings I’m gonna do, complete with indecipherable thumbnail sketches. When I find them months later it’s like, “What the hell does ‘death cave / enchanted forest, murder squirrels’ mean? Is this supposed to be a pirate octopus?” I find it oddly comforting that it is not just me.
