If Youth Knew; If Age Could

–Henri Estienne

Me: Our new neighbor thought that the bike parts you hung to spraypaint were art.
Companion: Ha!
Me: I know. They are so young.
Companion: We should invite them over and give them beers.
Me: Oh yeah?
Companion: Then they will say a bunch of stupid stuff they think is true.

  1. Hi, essjay, I’m that guy from Diva’s that Jessica knew from tango class.

Really excellent to make your acquaintance. I’d like to hear about your adventures in getting your script shopped around.

If there’s any help I can give you with SF tropes and writers, feel free grill me via email. I also hope you follow up on that Greg Egan lead, I really think he’s a superior writer, although excessively technical at times.

oooo, oooo, oooo: another great (& local) writer: Ted Chiang. The library has a copy of his short stories– some of them are very steam-punk, like “what if the Victorians were actually correct about how heridity works?”. Very cool. Hope you enjoy.

    Again, nyz ta meetcha,
    Eric

  2. As opposed to us oldsters who???

Say a bunch of stupid stuff just for the hell of it.

Say a bunch of smart stuff we know is false.

But truly, they ARE stupid, the young.
