This Morning After Pancakes

One girl miraculously got over her flu and came to the party. Thank god! She was brilliant and is welcome back anytime. The girls were discussing Christmas and Franny was name-dropping Xmas because she knows she is a cool pimp.

“We don’t celebrate Christmas,” announced Brilliant Girl.

“What do you DO, then?” asked Franny.

“We have Solstice.”

“Hmm, you’re lucky,” I said.

“Why do you have Christmas then, if you don’t want it?” Brilliant Girl said.

“Well, my family likes it,” I said.

“MOM! You’re always happy at Christmas,” Franny chastised me.

“Maybe she seems happy,” Brilliant Girl snapped back.

Much roffling all around.

  1. Snap! Wow, she would be fun to have over but to live with that much truth…IDK.

Hope you are having fun solo this weekend. Totally jealous.

  2. Just caught up on your blob. I don’t know what I’ve been doing with my time! Missing out on fancy cake tricks and precociously brillant children apparently. If I had done the fancy cake trick, either both or at least one of them would have broken and fallen through the wire racks. Luckily I don’t even OWN a wire rack.

  3. My b-day was yesterday (bah humbug, give me caek, leave me alone, kthnxbai), and after Hallowe’en, I will be in a holiday-hatin’ funk until late March.

    Stupid holidays.
